The Birch

Birch is a very popular tree in Baltic, Germanic and Finno – Ugrish mythology.
The name of Birch is thought to be connected to the Germanic goddess Berchta, who was a protector of mothers and children. In Finnish myths, this tree is connected to nature, life and death. For me personally, the Birch always was connected to the North and to early spring.
